Dr. Nawar Touchan DMD, FRCD(c), Board-Certified Periodontist
With over 10 years of practice in the field of dentistry, Dr. Nawar Touchan graduated from the University of Montreal’s Dental Medicine program in 2006. He then pursued a General Practice Residency in Detroit at the prestigious John D. Dingell VA Medical Center where he provided advanced restorative treatments to American war veterans.
Dr. Touchan continued his specialty training in periodontics at Columbia University in New York City. During his specialty training, Dr. Touchan also served as a clinical professor, teaching undergraduate dental courses in restorative dentistry and advanced courses in bone grafting, implant placement and regenerative procedures in the Graduate Periodontics program.
Dr. Touchan’s expertise includes non-surgical and surgical treatments of periodontal diseases, correction of gingival recessions, bone regeneration and implant dentistry. He provides regular trainings to the Ottawa dental community, and offers lectures and workshops to fellow specialists and dentists on implant dentistry and periodontal care.
In order to be at the forefront of new, cutting-edge treatments, Dr. Touchan pursues continuous education courses on a regular basis. He is a Fellow of the Royal Canadian College of Periodontology and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. He is also member of the Canadian and American Dental Association, the American Academy of Periodontology and the Ottawa Dental Society.
